Emma Cunnington -
BMus Music and PGCE in Secondary Music with S.I.T

Emma completed her Bachelors in Music at the University of Huddersfield in 2018, where she achieved a first class for her work across a range of specialisms, including:

​

- Solo and Ensemble Performance

- Arranging and Orchestrating

- Analysis

- Musicology and Film music

​

After this, she began her PGCE at both the Royal Northern College of Music and Manchester Metropolitan University. This PGCE is particularly unique, as Emma gained experience teaching in both secondary music and music service settings. She was awarded a PGCE in Secondary Music with Specialist Instrumental Tuition in July 2019, for which she achieved a distinction.

Emma works as a secondary school music teacher in Rotherham, teaching KS3-5 music to students on a part time basis. Alongside this, she has been working part-time as a woodwind tutor for Clarinet, Flute and Saxophone at a Sheffield-based music shop since 2019, as well as a local music service since 2023.

​

Emma holds an enhanced DBS for her various teaching pursuits, as well as grade 8 clarinet, grade 5 alto saxophone, grade 5 flute, and grade 5 theory.
